CoGo's, the most prominent local convenience store chain in Pittsburgh, has been acquired by Coen Markets, based in nearby Washington County.  The combined chain will have 66 locations throughout Western Pennsylvania.

Originally called Stop-N-Go Stores, the chain was founded in 1962 as an offshoot of the Carl Colteryahn Dairy (the amazing part of that to me being that there were still dairy farms operating within three miles of Downtown Pittsburgh in the mid-20th. Century).  They rebranded as CoGo's in 1986.  In recent years they have faced increasing pressure from national chains like 7-Eleven, regional power Sheetz, and Giant Eagle spin-off GetGo.  Coen plans to introduce an expanded hot food lineup in order to compete with those chains.
