On-Screen Program Guide

I asked this on another board and never got an answer. Does anyone know how cable and satellite providers get the program listings for their on screen guides?

Neither the on-screen guide for COX Cable nor the on-screen guide for DirecTV have any program listings for WUTH-CD Channel 47 the Entravision owned UniMas station in Hartford, CT. The program guide on COX Cable just says "Programming Unavailable" and the Program Guide on DirecTV says "To Be Announced." This has been since at least January 2016. Seems the only place you can find out what's on WUTH is on ZAP2IT.COM or one of the other online program listings sites.

I like my on-screen program guides in the form of a grid, so I know what's on, what's next, and what's coming later on each of the local TV stations in my area.
