Another local southeastern Michigan chain, based in Bloomfield Hills. They own and operate nine locations across southeastern Michigan with a total of 148 screens. They also operate the five-screen, second-run Allen Park Digital Cinema in Allen Park, Michigan.

They started out in 1980 with the acquisition of the Main Theater (now the Main Art Theater) at 11 Mile and Main Street in Royal Oak, Michigan. The chain is named after their original slogan, "Movies Just Right." Their slogan is now "It's More Fun at MJR" and it's part of their advertising jingle that plays during their policy trailer.

They soon acquired drive-in theaters in Monroe and Adrian and second-run theaters in Waterford, Livonia and Ann Arbor. In 1989 the drive-in theater in Adrian was torn down and replaced by their first first-run facility, the MJR Adrian Cinema 6. Four screens were added to that facility in 1997 and it is now the MJR Adrian Digital Cinema 10.

Around that time, they acquired the Allen Park Cinema, today their only second-run facility. They also briefly ran the three-screen theater at the former Summit Place Mall in Waterford. During the mid-1990's they opened the Chesterfield Crossing Cinema 12 (now 16 screens) and the Waterford Cinema 11 (also now 16 screens). In 1998 they opened their first 20-screen facility in Southgate. This was followed by 20-screen theaters in Brighton (originally opened with 16 screens) and Sterling Heights (Marketplace Digital Cinema 20).

In 2007, MJR converted completely to digital projection and opened the Partridge Creek Digital Cinema 14. This was followed by the Westland Grand Digital Cinema 16 in 2011 and the Troy Grand Digital Cinema 16 in 2014.
