After 45 years of playing Maria on Sesame Street Sonia Manzano is retiring.

I had no idea she was still doing Sesame Street.  And I remember watching it's premiere in 1969.

Did not even watch it much with my own kids, as they were more into Lamb Chop and Barney the Dinosaur.
I remember her as a cashier in Death Wish.  She rings out Hope Lange who goes home and is followed by three thugs, who rape and murder her.  Jeff Goldblum played one of the thugs.
