Last night ABC inserted a few April Fools Day pranks into their prime-time sitcoms.

On The Middle, Axl takes Sue to a campus party, and on the way in he meets another
guy, who high-fives him and says "Whatsup, Bro?"  The other guy is Barry, the older brother
from The Goldbergs, complete with his faded Philadelphia Flyers t-shirt.  Nevermind that the
shows are set thirty years apart and Barry Goldberg would be pushing 50 by now.

Then on The Goldbergs, Barry once again spends most of the episode clad in his familiar
Flyers t-shirt, except for one scene where he walks into a room and it mysteriously changes
into a Calgary Flames t-shirt, before changing back.  It is not even a period-specific 1980's
Flames t-shirt.

I wonder whether these were stunts for a one-time airing, and whether they also shot
"straight" versions for syndication?
