What has been deleted from Youtube

ive nodiced that alot of videos are being taken down from youtube eather that of they cut off the sound and its driveing me crazy when i wanna see something and i cant cause the video has been taken down or has the sound cut

WMG (Warner Music Group) seems to be doing it, its really annoying.

pretty much anything with  non licenced music is being deleted  they got sued by Warner over  unlicened music  Good Grief its not likeit was  great quality anyway  leave it  alone  The Dixie Square Videos that used to be up were deleted  thay were good  although the dvd should be coming soon about the mall and the fact its still standing
should have used the song Im Still Standing

there pretty much takeing down anything that has to do with music movies tv shows and pretty much evreything thats good and it annoys the hell out of me

a 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada commercial
a 1981 Kmart auto center commercial
a Two Guys commercial
a video of the Tri-State Mall Kmart
Chaka Khan's "I Feel For You" video
an Axel F video
Madonna's "Holiday" video
a Howard Jones video
Gary Wright's "Dreamweaver" video

plus all videos with Prince written songs

None of my youtube videos have anything Warner-related in them, but I have had Viacom pull down one of my videos before. There are a lot of great videos that are now gone from the site....that's why LiveVideo is better.

Why would they take those commercials down?

It's because of copyright laws that all these videos get down. Personally, I could understand if it was something like ''The Simpsons'' that you can buy on DVD or watch on FOX, then I would get why the entertainment companies don't want it on there because it could hurt DVD sales or their network ratings. But, a Kmart commercial from 1978 or an old 1980s/1990s TV show that doesn't air anymore? What's wrong with putting them on youtube? Seems perfectly fine to me, being as noone is distributing them now!

Yeah, I don't really understand that myself. One could maybe argue, "well, Kmart is a chain that is still in business." Okay, sure. But what about, as Mervyns posted earlier, Bradlees and Two Guys? It doesn't make any sense. And it sucks, because having stuff like that on Youtube make it a valuable resource for historical information, instead of simply a repository for peoples' dumb videos. :D

They deleted all of the Fleetwood Mac songs on YouTube, which was about 10 favorites on my account and countless other various songs. I'm furious about it, but since I like Fleetwood Mac so much, I ordered a greatest hits CD. I guess it isn't so bad, because I'm basically profiting the group (if they make commissions off sales of their songs) and I get a professional, extensive collection.

How are we to find music videos if there are no dedicated channels to them, such as MTV or VH-1 (which abandoned that format years ago)?

I just went threw my play list of music i listen top it went from 147 to 126

i made a video of people falling for like fun and what not and i used the song by chumbawamba tubthumping and the second i put it up they disabled the sound now last time i checked the song had nothing to do with wmg now i could be wrong

now i made a video of celebrities falling down and i used the song free falling and instead of disabling the sound they just put an add to buy the song idk why they cant do that with wmg

* CBS Corporation
* Warner Music Group
* Prince
* Walt Disney Co.

I've noticed the Walt Disney Co. also has been picky about what they want shown on YouTube, for instance, they've taken a couple of videos off that pertain to anything Toy Story, much like Viacom taking anything off pertaining to their shows found on Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, etc.


Don't blame the company. Blame the people behind the company.
