So Barack Obama is apparently going to speak from the steps of a miniature greek temple constructed at the 50-yard line of Invesco field.  And his campaign wonders why he's portrayed as a celebrity.  Whether you like him or not, I just have to share this parody I found... besides the America sucks part... :insane:

Im not getting politcal on this message board, simply because this board is better than half the trashy, non-moderated crap on the net.

I heard about this absolutely silly stunt but then again it plays true to the degree of showboating to what goes on at these conventions. It's all just nonsense really -- and more of the same talking in generalities-laden speeches and non discussing problem solving/skirting real issues that face the nation.

I watch it, it wasn't that bad,it looked more like he was standing in front of a municipal building/capital/the White House rather than a Greek/Roman structure.

the windows even lit up at night. :o

the columns were off to the left and right and weren't seen from the front angle. So I think a lot of about this rumor was exaggerated. The set was pretty nice.:D

I agree it wasn't as Romanesque as it was rumored to be.  Although I also don't think Obama's speech was as epic as it was built up to be.

It's a shame politics resort to showcases this shallow and corny enough to spend who knows how much on this silly set (and who knows where else this money could've gone). I suppose it doesn't help the image that Barack is a good looking figurehead "rockstar" but it might if he wins -- this will probably look decent in the history books/photos.

On an added note, I heard (I think Bill O'Reilly found out) they were planning this exact set up for Bush in 2004, but shot it down later on. Interesting, eh?
