That's not surprising considering that USA Today reported that home improvement stores are one of the hardest by the current economy and home sales.

Ha ha ha. What's funny, is that Woodstock is rarely ever mentioned here. Nobody wants to hear about that disaster.

Anyways, people are not happy here about the Home Depot shutting down.

Not sure about any of the others - but the East Brunswick one is a former "regular" hardware store - a Rickels if I remember correctly, so I'd assume it is probably a smaller store.

The Lima (Ohio) Home Depot isn't terribly old.  When Home Depot came in they tore down the old Furrow's (Building Supplies) and made Tracy's Appliances relocate.  Now just a few years later they are closing.

Every time I went in there help was hard to find and their prices sucked.  In Lima we have two other "home improvement" stores within about a mile of Home Depot (Lowe's and then across the street from Lowe's, Menard's).  Both stores have better service and prices.  Even when I went into HD when they had 10-30% off they only had one lane open for checkout and there were a lot of people in there.

It's sad that people are losing their jobs, but the store itself isn't that big of a loss.
