It appears that my dead retail site is losing major ground to Wikipedia. Don't get me wrong, i like Wikipedia and think it is a useful tool. But at the same time i am biased and wish to see my site grow.

Hey Chris, have you noticed a decrease in traffic? Idk, maybe it is just me and the lack of updating on my site? who knows. Hopefully some new updates will drive traffic back up.

Sorry for my ranting guys.

I noticed there is someone going to other dead store sites, copying information from them, changing it around and then posting it on wikipedia. I wrote to www.deadmalls.com to inform that that one of my postings had this happen and they confirmed that a lot of their malls are ending up there. I have to say that is pretty damned tacky to do things like that.

That is what bothers me. A lot of the dead retail sites share information with one another, but credit is given. It is what makes our dead retail communities unique. With Wikipedia, the info is taken from the sites and then placed on here with no credit given'. I hate to see our community resort to such measures.

I think of it in terms of retail. I would prefer a regional discount retailer (dead retail sites) over a national giant retailers (wikipedia) anyday. You get robbed of the personalization.

Yeah, I noticed this when the Ames page was "revamped."  I posted in another thread that a user Caldorwards 4 was going through pages and removing and re-doing legitimate information at his preference.  He removed Zayre88's site as well as mine, referring to them as spam links.  I reposted them and they were taken down by the user again.  I then wrote to the user and Wikipedia and a wikipedia staff member almost instantaneously put them back up.

I also saw on the Bradlees page, I believe, that Caldor1999 had posted legit locations, and this same user was persistent in removing them!
