mall at rockingham park

the mall called mall at rockingham park in salem new hampshire is just off Exit 1 off Rt.93 near Rockingham park on rockingham park blvd that leads to rt.28. this is the largest mall in nh and is 1-1.1 million square feet and is 2 levels with 135-140 stores. IT opened August 1991 and gets shoppers from mass due to its out out of state sales tax and killed the older methuen mall that was 5 miles away. the mall got a Sears, a 180,000 square foot Filene's, Jcpenny. it has a food court. a 160,000 square foot Jordan Marsh was added in Spring 1994. Jordan marsh became macy's in spring 1996. Disney store and KB toys and most other stores have stayed in their same places. Filene's basement closed in late 1999 and became H&M.  suncoast moved from being part of sam goody to a bigger and better store on the bottom floor. disney store got remodeled in fall 2003. Filene's got 30,000 squre feet added in 1998. the macy's will closed in early 2006 and move into the current filene's.
