Gander Outdoors stores to open in Northeast Wisconsin

NORTHEAST WISCONSIN, Wis. (WBAY) - Gander Mountain is being resurrected as Gander Outdoors.

Gander Outdoors locations will open across Wisconsin, including locations in the Appleton, Green Bay and Sheboygan areas.

The Appleton store (opening in April) is located at 535 N Westhill Blvd; the Green Bay store (opening in June) is located at 2323 Woodman Drive in Howard; and the Sheboygan store (opening in April) is at 4224 Gander Rd.

Gander Mountain declared bankruptcy in March 2017 and announced plans to close under-performing stores.

CNBC host Marcus Lemonis purchased the company's assets in May. "The Profit" star is opening Gander Outdoors stores under ownership of Camping World Holdings.

Gander Outdoors refers to itself as the "leading outdoor retailer that operates in local communities and online."

The resurrection of the outdoors retailer comes as one-time retail giants Toys 'R' Us and Bon-Ton shutter stores across the country.
