he struggling home goods retailer released its plans last month to shutter the "lower producing" locations, representing about 20% of its namesake stores.

The closures are part of a broader plan to try to stabilize the company's finances and turn around its declining sales.

Two Connecticut Bed Bath & Beyond stores are part of the company's first round of store closures.

The Waterford and Stamford locations are closing in the coming weeks.

I presume their plan is to emerge as an online-only retailer with no brick and mortar locations.  Otherwise they'd file for Chapter 7 liquidation.

I can see the Buy Buy Baby stores being bought out by another company with physical stores staying open. BB&B itself could come back as online-only if saved by another company. The best case scenario would be keeping whatever stores were still open before complete liquidation (minus all locations that already closed in the last wave). But I doubt the latter would happen. Buy Buy Baby is a good concept that still has potential.
