Personally i'd prefer Staying up but i Understand why you wouldn't stay up to soak in the first few mins of the new year.

I generally don't do much for New Years.  Don't generally go anywhere and usually
fall asleep before 12.   It's not a big deal to me, and frankly it's the one night of the year
I'm kind of afraid to drive with all of the drunks on the road.

Fam, Friends, booze. Way better than last year at this time. I was a wreck!
