Whole Foods pursued Sears space in Greensboro, NC, before the Amazon ownership, so this new announcement will be along that line.

In the Philly area, a Whole Foods opened in Exton at a Kmart site, but PREIT (the mall owner) was more involved in coordinating the oust of Kmart for Whole Foods.

I could see Whole Foods possibly pursuing the Deptford Mall Sears and maybe the Oxford Valley Mall Sears site. Deptford though is a little too Walmart of a town - where the mall does well but a lot of outlying retail is all discount stores, and Oxford Valley's site is a bit tucked in though but has higher income demographics around it, although the mall itself is falling as a weaker mall.
