Media Play still in business?

I just found out recently that the Newington Media Play has closed and moved out:no:

I WAS SHOCKED!!!:o


IS MEDIA PLAY STILL IN BUSINESS?

I wonder if this store was built/opened when Best Buy had control of the company...the exteriors look somewhat similar.

Media Play is having trouble. They have closed many stores over the past three years(including the ones in Albany :( ), and they are having financial trouble.

My Suncoast is a real old one w/ black facade and neon red lettering...been that way since before I was a wee one :)

Media Play In Syracuse is doing good one is in Shoppingtown Mall and the other one is in Northern Lights Shopping Center

Media Play closed inNewington, because no one went their! Best Buy, Circuit City, Walmart, and Target all on the same road. Anyways, never liked them, their stuff was expensive, surpirsed they even lasted that long in Newington. Bobs stores now ones the building, they bought it out like a month after Media Play closed!

Media Play  was once owned by Best Buy that was when they were good Then when Best Buy sold them they went down hill

Well everyone, Media Play is a done deal. They'll be closing by January 2006. The stores in New York that have already closed are 2 in Albany(Mohawk Mall and Crossgates Commons), and I believe a couple in or near New York City too(I could be wrong though). The stores in New York that are left are as follows:

Syracuse(2)
Buffalo(3 or 4)
Rochester(?)
Poughkeepsie
Middletown

The one in Middletown, NY is just about gone. I went about a week ago and there was almost nothing left.

media play is going out of business. the one in hadley closed in 2004 and it was in the hampshire mall.
