Kroger quits Raleigh-Durham market, completing banner's exit from North Carolina

Kroger cites lack of growth prospects and overstoring. Eight stores will go to its Harris Teeter subsidiary, one to Food Lion and another to a fitness center operator. Four stores' fates remain up in the air. This move comes after Ikea abandoned plans to build a store in Cary.
