Introuducing 102.9 The Whale - Hartford's Classic Rock

6 months after new owners Connoisseur Media shifted 102.9 DRC from Oldies to Classic Hits of the 70s, 80s, and more they blew up the station this morning and relaunched it as "102.9 The Whale - Hartford's Classic Rock."

New DJ Line-up:

530AM-10AM Chaz & AJ (Simulcast from WPLR in New Haven)
10AM-3PM Allan Lamberti (Formerly on 3PM-8PM)
3PM-7PM Picozzi (Formerly of WCCC, which was Classic Rock until August when K-LOVE bought the station)
7PM-Midite Ms. Klonk (Formerly of WCCC)

Its nice to see the former WCCC jocks have found homes in CT. 
Mike Karolyi, Jay Raven, Kidd, and Steven Wayne are now part of iRockradio.com. An internet radio rock station based at the Ct School of Broadcasting.

I'm boycotting The Whale and WPLR now. They're run by idiots. Both stations have been told several times that The Oakdale Theater in Wallingford is not being closed down by the town, but they insist on posting a petition on the Facebook Page of both stations to "Save The Oakdale".

What's going on with The Oakdale Theater is apparently they've been holding events in part of the building they're not supposed to be holding events on. That's what the town wants them to stop, not close down the theater all together.
