Newick's Lobster House down to two locations after South Portland closure

Newick's is a chain of seafood restaurants in Maine and New Hampshire. The flagship is in Dover Point, NH and opened in 1948. The chain numbered as many as four at one point. The location in Hampton, NH closed in 2003 after a 21-year run and the Merrimack NH and South Portland, ME locations closed in May 2007. Newick's attempted a comeback in South Portland in 2010 with a location on Gorham Road in a former TGI Friday's but it closed today with no warning. The Concord, NH branch which opened in 2007 at a former Smokey Bones remains open for now. One thing that might have hindered the Gorham Road location's chances of success is that it's at the Shops at Clark's Pond which has a number of issues as I've documented earlier.
