Longtime Connecticut "Junk" Store Closes

After 20 years in the old D&L store in downtown New Britain, CT Mitch's Place has closed. The store was like a Job Lot type store. The husband and wife who owned the store are leaving city life behind them and going into farming. There was briefly a 2nd location in Middletown, but it didn't catch on.

Editor's note: With Mitch's Place gone and the rumored closing of Job Lot later this year, there's no place in New Britain for bargain hunters to shop. Family Dollar has 2 locations in town, but it's not the same. And Dollar General is opening soon, but again it's not the same.
