WEBSTER? The 16-year-old sophomore who allegedly brought a handgun to Bartlett High School this week is facing firearms charges.

Police Chief William J. Keefe said yesterday the teenager has been charged with carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a large-capacity firearm and possession of a firearm without an Firearms Identification card.

?He had ammunition on him, but it wasn?t in the weapon,? Chief Keefe said yesterday.

The handgun, a 40-caliber Glock, is one routinely carried by police officers, said Chief Keefe. Glock and Sigarms are basic handguns carried by law enforcement, he said.

The Bartlett sophomore brought a handgun to school Wednesday and showed it to friends in the boy?s bathroom after MCAS testing, according to School Superintendent Vincent F. Simone. He said that, according to students who were interviewed, the sophomore neither brandished the gun nor made any threatening statements, but was showing it off to his friends. He said there was no indication of any connection between the gun and the MCAS testing.

According to Mr. Simone, students reported the incident to school personnel immediately, and school administrators and police worked together handling the situation. After the gun was confiscated, police took the teenager to the Police Department.

Asked where the teenager got the gun, Chief Keefe said, ?I?m not going to reveal that right now. We know where he got it, but there may be other things coming.?

Asked whether charges could be brought against the owner of the gun, Chief Keefe said that was possible. He said the teenager did not steal the gun.

He will be tried as a minor, the chief said. Mr. Simone said the boy was suspended from school, pending the outcome of an expulsion inquiry expected to last until Tuesday.

I go to St. Mary's in Swormville. The kids there are awesome and I've made lots of friends, pluse they're are a few hott girls there. Thay absolutely LOVE me and would all do anything  to go out with me *sarcasm* . Just kidding, hott girls won't touch me with a 100 ft. pole. They all act like lesbians too (Maybe they are..) But anyway..the TEACHERS...eww. All horrible. I hate 99%of them. The only teacher I like is my art teacher. She's really really nice and lets me do whatever I want and she's the mom of one of the really hott (Lesbian) girls in my class I used to like (That didn't turn out so well). My grades suck, so often times I end up in a pretty crappy mood. But my school was built in 1930 and is pretty small, so I like that.:bouncing:

I go to a private school, and I love it. The teachers are great and very attentive to each student, and the kids are all really close-knit. We graduate this year, and theseare kids I've been in class with for the past 9 years or so...and we're getting spread out at all different high schools....:( But most of my closest friends will be going to the same HS as me ;) so that's okay....

I don't know how bad is this school but Hannaford wants to buy it and build a supermarket with the land.

It's been temporary renamed "Hannaford High School" :P

I went to an approximately 1500-student public high school, we never had anything violent or scary happen in the four years I was there. High school was kind of a waste of time for me, but it certainly was no reflection on the school itself, which is arguably one of the best public schools in the state.

I like my university very much, although sometimes I wish it wasn't quite as large or academically competitive. It is a Princeton Review-recommended research university, though, which in my eyes is a positive thing. I may continue on at my current school for my Master of Arts degree, probably in Canadian history.

I just graduated from Cardinal Stritch High School in Oregon, (Outside of Toledo), OH.

I just graduated last year.

CSHS is small (345 student... 88 in my graduating class) Catholic high school. It was built in 1965, and during my freshmen year received new plumbing, restroom fixtures, flooring, and landscaping and windows. My sophomore year brought new ceilings, paint, new flooring, new desk, black boards replaced with white boards and Smart Boards (basically, a computer screen projected on an electronics white board. You can use digital "chalk" and other tools.

The school was chosen as one of the Top 50 Catholic Schools in the USA between my sophomore-senior year.. it was chosen again this year.

While it was a good school, it faces problems that the other catholic schools don't have to face... it's on the other side of town and not on major bus routes (but does get bussing from 5 school districts) and until recently couldn't afford to keep up with the other 4 Catholic high schools.

The other high schools feature seperate boys/girls school (2 for each and another co-ed school), expanded course work, expanded tech. (such as musical labs, etc) and have a better "word-of-mouth" following."

Nothing violent or major happened... if they did, they were swiftly kicked out by the adim. The worst was when I was witness to a pot sale in the drafting room... during class... the seller was kicked-out, but his friends remained..

Sadly, my high school combined with some of the catholic elementary schools and now features a middle-school in one-half of the original high school. The overall plan is build a new p-12 school.

The major problem with the plan is the fact that many parents don't support it and many GOOD teachers walked out on the plan... 60% of the teachers are new...

It's a shame... I loved my high school

Go Cardinals!
