I don't usually get to see anyone, because nothing, and I mean nothing comes to a reasonable distance to see around here. But every once in a blue moon they actually do.

I went to a concert yesterday and got to see one of my favorite bands, Exotic Animal Petting Zoo. I actually got to meet and talk with them. My friends and I told them that they were the reason we came, and they were shocked to hear it. Seeing as how they ended up being the least known band that played out of five others, none of which I cared for (Through The Fire, The Agonist, The DanceClub Massacre and a few others).

How about you guys? Do you go to shows a lot? Who have you seen live?

I go to a fair amount of shows. The last major one I saw was Fleetwood Mac last week in Boston...I also have tickets for Ben Folds coming up next month.

Who else have I seen live? Hmmm...offhand, let's see...

Genesis, The Who, Radiohead (twice), Sloan (twice), Depeche Mode, The Dan Band, The Strokes, Cold War Kids, The Police (and a bunch of other bands @ Bonnaroo incl. Wilco), The Musical Box (technically a tribute band but they are incredible -- twice), Godspeed You Black Emperor!, VNV Nation, David Bowie, there's so much more but that's what I am coming up with just off the top of my head.

I do have to travel, generally, to go to shows...no one really comes up here.

I love to go to concerts and 2008 was a banner year with concerts in every single month and 8 in September alone (a personal best!).

Tim Finn (formerly of Split Enz)
Liam Finn (3 times
VHS or Beta (great local group from KY)
Racconeaurs
Earth, Wind & Fire
Huey Lewis & the News
Duran Duran (twice)
David Byrne
B-52's
The Moody Blues
Crosby, Stills & Nash
The Romantics

What a great year!

I saw Bill Harley 2 Saturdays ago.  I believe that's my only "famous" concert that I've been to.

Whoa!! Awesome list! I would go see just about everything on there.

I am elated to know that there is someone else on here familiar with the Enz -- that is very cool (And Tim joined Neil in Crowded House eventually, too)...

How'd you manage to see Liam 3 times? I have his disc that came out last year, been thinking about getting the Betchadupa stuff...he's good.

Both Neal and Liam are awesome to meet in person!  We were lucky enough to see him here in Memphis, Nashville and a surprise gig in Atlanta the night after we saw Duran Duran (what a weekend!).  :):):)

The first time that we saw him he opened fror Crowded House in Nashville in 2007 and we were blown away.   :D

Did you know that there was a recent concert in Australia for the victims of the brushfires tha featured Split Enz and Liam played with them?  I'm trying to see if there is a way to get a copy of the show since it's all for charity.  :)

BTW - a funny coincidence is that my back doctor is from Australia and all we ever talk about is the shows, what's going on with the bands, etc.
