Hey all,

Good news, I've got a new Ames training video for everyone.  Thanks to a former employee Josh (#1 bagger) who had the heart to send me the tape as well as his prized badge and service pins for safe keeping.  Produced in 1996, this video features an Ames-produced music video!

For now these screenshots from my digital camera will have to do...  Unfortunately my tv tuner used to convert the other videos does not work anymore, so I need to find a way to get this into digital format!

Only six garments at a time... Six!

Please thank Josh for me and thanks to you for always making the site interesting!  I can't wait until we can view the training video.

Alrighty, I finally got this working, but it's 2:45 am so here's a low quality sample of the video.  This features the "Fit for you" music video!

Any chance of getting this onto a DVD-R? I'd love a copy.  I have an old Caldor loss prevention video I could trade.

Wow-- has it really been 3 years since my last post?

The Fabulous Fit video brings back (frightening) memories. The video was designed to train anyone who had responsibility for the Fitting Rooms, and was just one segment included in a 40+ minute Loss Prevention presentation shown to all newly hired employees during Orientation.

As a Store Trainer, I probably viewed this training tape at least 100 times (or more). I think I could recite the lyrics to the "rap" song by memory.

It is worth mentioning that this video, along with several of the other "training" videos we were required to view, was lame and silly to the point that it only elicited groans from the intended audience and failed to make training engaging or working at Ames any more fun. :P

OMG!  I am rolling on the floor after seeing the video.  I wonder whose mom they used in the video and I almost expected to see her do the crossing arms thing at the end with a backwards cap on.  :insane: :insane: :insane:

Thanks for sharing!

PS - I can't believe that stores actually used to pay someone to hang around and count items.  Now, you can't find someone to help you if you're on fire and the stores wonder how all their stuff keeps "walking" out the front door.
