Medicine Shoppe in Watertown NY closing this month

It was announced today that The Medicine Shoppe pharmacy, located at 1509 State Street in Watertown, NY is closing this month due to the economy and low reimbursement from medicaid, etc.  The Medicine Shoppe company owns the building and will put it up for sale, according to today's article in the Watertown Daily Times.  Another Medicine Shoppe that was located just a few miles away in Adams NY, closed in March for the same reason.  The pharmacist at Watertown's Medicine Shoppe is working part-time at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Leray and will go full-time when TMS closes.  There are no plans to close The Medicine Place in Ogdensburg, which opened in 1985 as a Medicine Shoppe and changed names and suppliers to Leader pharmacy a few years ago.
