Well, I kinda knew abiut this from the link on deadmalls.com, but I guess I thought it was JUST about ames, so I never looked too much into it/ But the other day on gamefaqs.com, some guy was talkin about caldor and other old stores and I mentioned deadmalls.com, which he new of and linked to this board sayin it talks about all the past retail stores, and thus im here!

After I lost my job in late 2005, I started looking around sites that talked about old store chains and happened to find a link on someone's site that directed me here.  What a find!

I found this website on the Ames Department Store Wikipedia Page @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ames_(store) which contained a link to the Ames Fan Club. I was on Wikipedia looking up the history of my favorite businesses and retail stores of the past.
