Subway to close 500 underperforming US locations

How do they propose to do this?  Aren't they all franchised?
Are they just going to start revoking franchises or are they going to buy people out?

I'm assuming they're buying out certain franchises. Many of them have been trying to get out for years.

I was at Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem, PA last weekend and it appears that locations is closed, since it wasn't open and the location doesn't come up on the site.

There is one near my house that has given me food poisoning.
I hope they close that one.

I hope they remodel the stores that plan on staying open to that bright, new look.
