Great Eastern Mills

Does anyone remember the chain of discount stores known as Great Eastern and Great Eastern Mills?   I was never in one, I think they closed during the early to mid 70's.   If I am correct, I think they were a co-op style store.  Linens and Things got there start as a partnership with Great Eastern Mills.  In fact, Linens and Things used to be known as Great Eastern Linens.    There is a picture of a sign here:
