Mikasa Home Furnishings

Has anyone else besides me ever heard of this chain? There was a really big one in a strip mall near me that just closed recently. I'll try to get some pictures next time I go by. It sold stuff like china, plates, etc etc. Not really furniture though, so it's a mystery why they called it Home Furnishings:insane:

Yes I remember them. They had one in the Corbin's Corner Plaza in West Hartford, CT which is across the street from the Westfarms Mall. And There also was one in Danbury in the Danbury Square located on Backus Avenue near the Danbury Fair Mall. Other stores sold Mikasa products. I can't think of who right now, but I know the independent DePaolo's Furniture in Southington, CT had a gift shop that sold Mikasa. The Gift Shop is now an expanded part of the furniture store.

The only one I know of opened in a brand new plaza in 1989 with AMC, Linens 'n Things (also closing) and EXPO (closed).
