There used to be two Fantastic Sam's stores in my area.
- The former Value City Shopping Center in Pleasant Hills, PA
- Route 88 in Castle Shannon, PA
Both salons are still in business, but the Fantastic Sam's name and signage
were suddenly removed. The businesses are continuing to operate under new names.
My guess is that Fantastic Sam's changed something in a franchise agreement that
these owners did not like (or they both fell behind on their fee payments).
We had one in Southington, CT some 30-odd years ago. I'm not 100% sure I think it was located in the small strip mall at 826-842 Queen Street next to the ShopRite Plaza which back then was the Edward's Plaza. A couple times I got my haircut there. We lived in Bristol back then, but my Mom's brother (may he rest in peace) and his wife lived in Southington.
