Title: Darien Lake
Post by: Pikapower on January 15, 2016, 06:41:48 PM
Discuss!

Darien Lake is a theme park resort located in Darien Center, NY. The park originally opened in 1954 as a campground resort near a man made lake that was named after the town the park is in. In 1981 Darien Lake made its debut as the theme park as we know it today. From 1999 until 2006, it was owned by Six Flags and the Looney Tunes and DC Comics characters dominated the park, but when Darien Lake was sold the characters were removed from the park.

The "Ride of Steel" roller coaster used called "Superman: Ride of Steel" when Six Flags owned Darien Lake. I think the owners who bought DL from Six Flags got lazy when it came to rename the roller coaster and just kept the "Ride of Steel" part.
