Title: Mysterious former gas station in Michigan
Post by: Hudsons81 on September 10, 2015, 09:21:19 AM
This former station is at Allen Road and Angelique Street in Allen Park, Michigan, a block north of one of the Exxon stations I posted a photo of in the ExxonMobil thread. It was most recently used as a muffler shop. I have no idea what this was...this looks like it was probably a Boron, Amoco, 76 or Gulf, however, the stripes on the building look like they don't match any of those...

Could it have been a Clark or a Total station?
I remember a lot of those when I lived in Michigan.

It looks similar to this former Gulf station in North Carolina (photo courtesy of D.J. Seltzer).

The porcelain/steel panels are still intact, the striping or molding on the sides is similar, and note how there are exactly two panels of the same size between each garage bay.
