I am starting this thread for anyone who wants to talk about Exxon, Mobil, and Esso

Apparently they had to close the existing Mobil branded stations when Exxon and Mobil merged (15 years ago! - really doesn't seem that far back). But now that restriction is gone, so they are coming back (at least a little bit).
Also surprising that there isn't already an ExxonMobil post around here somewhere, but there doesn't seem to be.
A Mobil Station replaced the BP Station at the corner of West Main Street and Chamberlain Highway in Meriden, Connecticut. Don't know when it changed. Before today (I had an appointment in Wallingford and I take the back roads) I hadn't been by that way in quite a while.
Esso was branded as Humble in Ohio and Kentucky. Here's a former Humble station in Florence, KY, given away by the shape of the roof on the building.

Ever since the merger, Exxon stations have started appearing in Michigan, a state that has traditionally been Mobil territory. Here are two new Exxon stations in Allen Park. The first one is on Southfield Road just south of I-94. The second one is at Allen Road and Jonas Street, south of downtown Allen Park.

Another new Exxon has showed up. This new one is at the northeast corner of Fort and Omaha Streets in far southwestern Detroit. This station was previously Valero before becoming abandoned for a while.

Giving my age away by saying that I remember when all of the Exxon stations were
known as Esso (which they still are in Canada).
My grandma used to give me hot chocolate in a giveaway cup from Esso that had
a picture of the Esso Tiger on it.

The Esso name is still used in Europe as well.

The OH/KY/IN United Dairy Farmers Chain was formerly in an alliance with Mobil (with UDF providing C-store branding and Mobil providing the gas). At some point in the past five or six years, the Mobil branding was removed and UDF branding began appearing on both the C-store and the gas portion. That wiped out the majority of Mobil branding in the area.
Exxons are pretty common around here. One down the road from my house in Kentucky is in a former BP station.
