Decided to use some spare time to create higher quality Ames Forums logos that could be used to replace the old, low quality logo that's currently in use.
Both logos were created using GIMP, an open source image editing program. I also downloaded the ITC Cheltenham font family and found the variant that's used in the Ames logo.
After colouring the background, I typed "Ames Forums" and adjusted the letter spacing so that the letters slightly overlapped each other. I then touched up the gaps to recreate the distinctive joint lettering in the Ames logo.
My first logo uses the same shade of teal as the website background.
