1440 Central Ave, Colonie, NY Re purposed into david's bridal
This one is not correct - the Kids R Us was in the mall (taking the place of several stores that had been formed out of a former Korvettes discount store after they closed up).
That part of the mall was demolished when it was rebuilt into the current setup. Most likely much, if not all of, the portion that was Kids R Us would be part of the parking lot today in front of Target (right side) or part of the current Target building, since the mall actually extended as far forward as the current David's store (which is the only part of the mall itself left - as is the building housing Staples that was always an outparcel).
The David's Bridal store was an electronics type store of one of the many chains now also gone when first constructed as an addition to the mall, but I can't remember the name at the moment.

You're welcome - I believe upon further thinking the store originally in the David's space was Silo (electronics/appliances).
i'd like to add Crossgates Commons, as well as the Latham store in the target plaza

Didn't they operate as Lechmere for a time?

Those stores are both in a shopping plaza and I don't know which specific store was kids R so what did those stores become after Kids "R" Us closed?

No - Lechmere was in a freestanding building behind the mall (that was originally a furniture store), and was finally demolished (along with the theater building) when the current Lowe's was constructed.
Silo was in the small building now David's bridal which was built for them and attached to the front left side of the mall itself.

I could be wrong but from my research crossgates commons has home depot, at home, oliies, tjmaxx, walmart sears outlet, Panera bread, party city, and a mattress store I don't see any vacant stores. But as I've said before I could be wrong maybe google maps isn't up to date or I have the wrong shopping plaza. The same goes with the target plaza I don't see any vacant storss except for the babies R us so that might be where kids R us was. But I could be wrong.
The store I grew up with was located at 4530 Eastgate Boulevard in Union Township, Ohio (east of Cincinnati). It later became an Office Depot and is currently a Jo-Ann Fabrics.

Looking at the Google Maps for Crossgates Commons, they have redone the upper level (facing Washington Ave. Ext.) quite a bit. What is shown (on there) as At Home & Mattress Xpress used to be about 5 or 6 storefronts, and I believe the Kids R Us was in one of those. Likely some part of the section shown as the Mattress store (which has now apparently moved to the rear in the old Sears Outlet spot), but maybe it was at the far right side of the At Home spot - perhaps someone who remembers it better can be more specific.
If you try Bing Maps, they have older shots and you can see (though not well) the former multi-storefront design (but later than KRU so it doesn't help specify that).
For the Latham one, that may have been one that started as a combo (Kids R Us/Babies R Us) then just went to fully Babies when they decided to drop the Kids line, as that plaza is not as old as the other two (even though the road leading to the former store looks it, or someone was doing a crazy art project with pavement repair material ;)).
Waterford CT 825 Hartford Turnpike. This location closed years ago, but was built as a stand alone store in the early 90s, a Boater’s World was built next to it a few years later. It is now a Petco. If you look at the facade, it still has the original Kids R Us design, just painted to Petco colors.

I have changed the list so when I find some more locations instead of replying to this topic with the new locations I just edit the first post with "UPDATE" and the date of when the new locations was posted.
I made some updates to my list and put it on a much more organized Google Sheet
Here's a link on my blog to view the list of former Kids "R" Us locations:
