Geno (Mr. Caldor on here) did an Urban Explorer Video (with me) of the Centennial Plaza store in Meriden, CT. After AMES relocated to The Meriden Parkade on East Main Street this site sat empty for several years until it became Railroad Salavage. It's been sitting empty for close to 10 years now (at least).

Actually Ames kept both stores open for awhile. I don't remember for how long. The Meriden Parkade store was previously a Zayre.

I contacted the Record-Journal newspaper to get information about the two AMES stores and a couple of other retail questions we had about Meriden and the guy from the newspaper wanted me to call him, but turns out Meriden is a long distance call from Southington because my Mom has a bare bones no thrills landline plan from COX and my Mom won't let me make long distance phone calls. She won't let me use her cell phone either. (I don't have a cell phone plans since I don't work). So I pretty much ghosted the guy from The Record Journal. Yes I am a colossal jack ass. But if you've known me you'd know I always have been a colossal jack ass.
