Title: Defunct retailers surviving in other parts of the world
Post by: Retail Fan+ (Justin Hill) on September 24, 2018, 06:36:21 PM
Toys "R" Us/Babies "R" Us - United States, United Kingdom and Australia (still operates in Canada, parts of Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia)
Woolworth - United States, Canada, United Kingdom (a retailer by this name still exists in Mexico; a supermarket by this name in Australia is unrelated)

Not quite dead yet, but on death watch:
Kmart - United States*, Canada, Mexico, Czech Republic, Slovakia (retailers by this name still exist in Australia and New Zealand under different ownership)
Sears - United States*, Canada, Cuba (a retailer by this name will still exist in Mexico by the time Sears closes their last store in the United States)

You need to double-check that list.
Woolworth in the UK closed-up several years ago.

It looks like the post says that (defunct in the US, Canada, UK - with surviving stores in Mexico and unrelated supermarkets in Australia)?

Last time I set foot in a Woolworths was in 1992 at Northland Mall
in Columbus, Ohio.  It closed shortly afterwards.

Woolworth Mexicana was once part of the U.S. F.W. Woolworth Company.
Foot Locker Inc. sold Woolworth Mexicana to Control Dinamico S.A. in 1997.

Woolworth Germany has also operated independently of Foot Locker, Inc. since 1998.
