I-Heart has launched Throwback Hip-Hop formatted Real 106.1 FM in Philly. The station replaced Adult Contemporary formatted MIX 106.1 FM at 12 Noon on Thursday June 29th.

And it all came to an end at 12Noon on Friday November 9th. i-Heart replaced Real 106.1 with Christmas music with a new format expected to compete against Entercom's B-101 expected to launch on December 26th. i-Heart's predecessor Clear Channel tried to compete with B-101 sometime and the beginning of the 21st Century. It was called Sunny 104.5 so essentially whatever the new format on 106.1 will be called it will be Sunny 104.5 Version 3.0
