They are a chain that serves fish and chips that operates just over a couple dozen stores, all in Southern California except for one in Sacramento, California and two seasonal locations in the Food Building during the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto.

They were founded in 1965 and affiliated with KFC in 1969 to expand it's reach across the United States. This affiliation lasted until 1980 and the affiliation produced a slew of them in Metro Detroit. Most of them became KFC after the affiliation ended, except for the following:

Trenton, Michigan is an interesting case of how that H. Salt Esquire was retenanted after the 1970's-it became a KFC, which moved up West Road to Woodhaven around 1987, then became a record store, a chiropractor's office and most recently a Check & Go check cashing place, it is currently vacant.
