The parent company of Arby's/Wendy's is putting its Arby's division for sale to concentrate on their more popular Wendy's brand.

I never saw the synergies between Arby's and Wendy's. You never saw, for example, combination Arby's/Wendy's units. I wonder why they never tried to make that happen? The Arby's locations in my area are in rough shape; the Wendy's, somewhat less so. Hmm, maybe I answered my own question!
McDonald's demand for their franchisees to tear down and rebuild new units has really paid off relative to their competition; even most Burger Kings look run-down by comparison. The old adage "you've got to spend money to make money" surely applies here. Then again, McDonald's had the customer base to justify that expensive refresh.
Yum Brands is trying to sell A&W and Long John Silver's as well. So now we have three different fast food chains being sold.
Will be interesting to see who buys what.
