Where I work, one of our accounts is for Discovery Channel Stores. They were never that popular, but they had stuff like sharper image, just geared more toward kids.
We got an email today that they are going out of business starting this week!
All these types of stores have closed in the past few years. There used to be a chain called "World of Science" around here in many malls that went under a few years ago, and in a few of the malls near me had "WHYY Store of Knowledge" (WHYY being the local PBS affiliate). I guess there isn't a market for the types of items these stores sell--oh well they can just replace the stores with more Starbucks and overpriced clothes stores.
I liked both those stores "Discovery Channel" and "Store of Knowledge". Didn't realize they were gone. LOL.
