Title: Ramada Inn restaurants
Post by: amesman on June 30, 2006, 11:51:45 AM
I've come to learn that Ramada Inns used to have a chain of restaurants that came with them(much like the Hojos set up). Does anyone know the name of this chain? They aren't around anymore. We used to have a restaurant next to our Ramada Inn(which is now a Quality Inn) called Steak Out. Could that be the name of the chain? It is now a local place. Does anyone know anything about this chain?

Most Ramada Inns used to have dining rooms across the front of the building, often with large picture windows.  Depending on configuration of the building, they would be located either left or right of the "grand lobby" with the twin curved staircases.  Quite a trademark for the chain.  Steak Out is still around; it is a steak delivery operation.  I do know that a few Aunt Jemima's Pancake Houses once accompanied one of the motel chains, maybe Ramada.  I would like to know more about this possibility, too.

This chain of restaurants wasn't the same as the Steak Out delivery chain today.
