Back in 1982 when the Escort was introduced to the U.S. market Ford called it their "world car".  Must not have had a lot going on in the world back then......:bouncing::bouncing:

Actually, the Escort was introduced as a 1981 model.  It sold quite well for Ford for many many years.

The Ford Escort and its sister car the Mercury Lynx were both introduced in 1981 in America. This is a Mercury Lynx.

Hope you didnt get hurt in that accident!  Yeah, I forgot that Mercury had their own version of the Escort.  I dont think it lasted as long as the Escort did.

I liked the last ZX2 in 2004. That year they dropped the Escort name and put a new front end on. My sister bought one new in 2004 that is dark green with charcoal interior.

Does anyone remember the two door "sports" editions of the Escort called the EXP?  It was sold from 1981 to 1988.  It had HUGE headlights.  Wish someone had a pic of it to post.
I saw one of these cars running down the highway just the other day.  I got a chuckle at the BIG headlights. :bouncing::roll:
