Title: Westons
Post by: Ames303 on August 06, 2005, 10:00:00 AM
Does anyone remember Westons?  There were several in Central New York - a bunch of them became Jamesway.

I have a receipt somewhere from Jamesway from an old Sweda mechanical cash register, and you can see where they put tape or something over the "Westons" logo stamp that stamped on each receipt.

I'm not from New York so I never heard of them but I know Jamesway and love Jamesway.

Could Westons have been a part of the George Weston empire from Canada that once owned National Tea in the U.S. and operated its Loblaws supermarket chain here as well?

I remember there was a Weston's in the Harte Haven shopping plaza in Massena NY in the late 70s before they switched it to Jamesway.
