Aldi has announced an ambitious expansion plan that would add approximately 800 locations across the US at a cost of $9 billion.

Personally I'm skeptical that it will ever be that many given my experience with Ames and a failed rapid expansion.
Seems like quite an aggressive plan to me. We'll just have to see how it works.
