Interesting.  The bulk of the closures appear to be in Canada.

Two closing in Flint, Michigan.  Not surprising.

Some people in Canada try to blame Lowe's takeover of the Rona chain for these closings... to me they're just closing a small number unprofitable stores that's all.

Newfoundland and Labrador was hit hard - all of the corporate Rona locations there are closing. These Ronas were the former Chester Dawe stores (and its truss plant, which Lowe's is also closing.)

Lowe's is closing 51 of their under performing stores in the USA and Canada including the one in Orange, Connecticut.

The Orange closure doesn't surprise me at all, that area is on the far end of the post road and is set back from the road quite a bit, the Sam's club closed a while back and the only other 2 stores are Best Buy and Target, plus there is already a Lowes where the old Jai Lai fronton was, not sure what could go in that space, perhaps it could be subdivided into 2 or more stores.

Those provinces have long been known for having a scuffling economy.  I think the poverty rate there is higher than in any other part of Canada.
