The Store Locator now includes an interactive google map on the store pages!  Some of the addresses did not geocode right, I'll be going through and fixing them.  Let me know if you have any problems!

Yeah they probably aren't, I geocoded the locations all together so I didn't have a chance to check them all.  I have to fine tune a few... :)

Chris, were you ever able to get any info on the location that was in Kissimmee, FL in the early-mid 80's?  I can check back to get the zipcode if that would help.  Thanks!

My father lives in Florida and I had him ask a friend.  He recalls it was the one pictured there, but it was remodeled years ago!

Wow!  Since it's been forever, I did not know what to expect, but that surely looks like it could be the old Ames that I came to know and love.  Glad to know that the building is still there.

Were you ever able to find dates, details, etc. on the old Zayre and Ames?  All that I know is that it was a Zayre about the time we moved there in 1985 and shortly became an Ames within the next year or so.

:yup:

Interactive locator is updated and contains links now. All addresses are geocoded!

I sent you a few more updates for the Harrisburg and York PA stores.  Also I think some of the photos that are up for the Scranton PA store are wrong.  That was originally a Hills location (with their usual storefront design) and I'm pretty certain the exterior photo as well as the interior photo with the older style checkstands weren't from this store.  The realty company which owns the shopping center looks to have changed the outside from what I remember but the building itself is still vacant (and available).

IGA/Kmart Is Forever!

I have some photos that I would like to link to the store locator for one of the original Ames locations. Does anybody know how I can to this? I will provide a link below with the page that I am trying to put my photos on. Anybody who can tell me how to link my photos from my photo gallery account to this page would help me tremendously. Please feel free to post a response or send me a message through the message-board. Thanks so much.

I put a few pictures up this year from Florida in 1990 that have not been added.
