I was surprised to see this Ames store still standing and in tact including the sign along the street.
There is a lot in store for you where clean, fresh and good make a GRAND UNION.

The first AMES letters I've seen still fully intact.

Nice work! It's great to see some Ames are still hangin' in there in some cavities all over the Northeast. If I'm not mistaken, New York is host to the most leftover vacancies left in the chain's shadow.
All submitted photos were taken by myself unless stated otherwise.

Was the door just open and you were able to walk in? Nice photos.

This was originally a Jamesway.

I discovered when I revisited the Barre, VT Ames that when you look through the shaded windows in the front of the store you can't see much. For some reason though when you wipe away the dirt and hold the camera to the window it takes some pretty amazing shots of inside.
That was the case with the Hyde Park store as well. When I recently revisited this location these were the pictures that I captured.

That is really cool, I've always wanted to see a Jamesway store live in person.

I'm not sure if any are still vacant though. Every Jamesway near me has already been converted to something else, mostly grocery stores. There might be some in western New York and western Pennsylvania. I even heard that there is a vacant one somewhere in Virginia.

I'm going to be going here today and hopefully getting some pictures! :)
