Title: Choice Hotels
Post by: Retail Fan+ (Justin Hill) on June 24, 2019, 03:41:16 AM
Discuss everything about the Choice Hotels (Comfort Inn/Suites, Quality Inn, Clarion, Sleep Inn, etc.) here.

Did you know that Sleep Inn was originally going to be called McSleep Inn before McDonald's restaurants stepped in and threatened to sue Quality Inns International (the predecessor to Choice Hotels) over the "Mc" prefix and how it could cause brand confusion? Good thing they changed it!

Here's Choice Hotel's original four hotel brands: Quality Inn, Comfort Inn, Clarion Inn and Sleep Inn

Clarion Inns cause a lot of confusion for travelers in Pennsylvania
because there is a town and a county here named Clarion (home of a large
state college).  Most of the Clarion Inns are nowhere near Clarion.
Perhaps they should rebrand those properties within Pennsylvania.

I bet they would've caused less confusion if they were still called Quality Royale Hotels.
