Title: Railroad Salvage Stores...
Post by: Anonymous on March 19, 2005, 03:59:10 PM
Hello:

Is Railroad Salvage Stores still around? I remember in the late 60s - Ruby Vine (the owner) and Choo-choo (his wife) had stores in West Haven, Groton, East Windsor (I loved that story...it had a huge HO model train layout), Connecticut and Turner's Fall and Chicopee Massachusetts.

Thanks...

Berlin CT had a RRS. It was in the now run down Webster Square Plaza where a burnt down Woolworths was. It is now a nice A&P Super Foodmart. Ocean State Job Lot, and Family Dollar are also in the plaza.

I remember this store. What a dump... almost as much as those atrocious waste-of-space Ocean State Job Lots.
