the mall of new hampshire is in manchester nh on south willow st off exit 1 on rt. 293. the mall started out with a 62,000 square foot lechmere, a 60,000 squer foot filene's and a SEars. the mall opened in september 1977 and had then 80-90 stores and a ground round in the food court as well as mcdonalds and arbys and you could sit in the restuarants. The mall was expanded and renovated in 1996-1998. The mall was remodeled, many stores relocated from within the mall to bigger locations, such as KB toys, suncoast, spencer gifts, B.DAlton etc. A newer, modernized 160,000 squre foot Filene's was built in the newer wing of the mall in early 1997 and the newer wing had 40 more stores and the old filene's was demolished and rebuilt into part of the newer wing and a 100,000 square foot 2-level JC PEnny (that opened in April 1998). the food court underwent an extensive renovation in early 1998 and was changed into a 700-seat food court. SEars was expanded adn remodeled. LEchmere closed november 1997 and a 41,000 squer foot Best buy and a 21,000 square foot Kitchen ETc replaced Lechmere in October 1998. disney store opened in spring 1996. herman's sporting goods closed in may 1996 and became Olympia Sports. Eddie beauer opened in the new wing. in the new wing came Ruby tuesday. outside the mall longhorn steakhouse and TGI friday were cosntructed within a few years ago. B.Dalton closed in early 2005 as the lease went out and B.dalton and a few adjoining closed stores became a 18,000-22,000 square foot Old NAvy that opened in mAy 2005. The mall's sign and logo got changed in 1996. there is not much traces of the mall's old days now. suncoast is closing. ground round closed early 2004. cherry and webb closed early 1996.
