Pinnacle was an aggregator of brands spun off by larger CPG firms. This deal moves those brands back into the major leagues. There will inevitably be some casualties along the way.

Is it just me, or does having 80% of our food supply controlled by
three large companies seem like a really bad idea?

It most likely depends on those companies and, even more importantly on who is running those companies.

Some people can do things that are good while still being profitable, while others can only be profitable by doing things that are not so good.
